As you can see, daily posts went the way of the Dodo at the end. Just too much fun to sit around and post stuff. I’ve got a ton of photos and videos I’ll put up later today.
Overall, MINIs on the Dragon 8 – 2010 kicked major ass. I met some new and totally awesome people, had some incredible times with people I already knew and drove the hell out of that road. Cabin is already reserved for next year. See you guys then!

The Good:
Great weather wed-sat. Less traffic on the road due to the rock slide. Fire Pit. Lots of good times.
Quiet and understanding roommate.

The Bad:
Speeding ticket on my very first run.
Forgot peoples names already.

Tried to take the same photo from 2 years ago. Ironically the tree I had to photoshop out of the original is gone, replaced with a deck and a boat launch.

Thursday, Day 4. I really miss my dog today. I would bring her, but she hates riding in the car. Another perfect day for weather, sunny, nice cool breeze. Made 3 different trips to the Dragon today, and 4 runs total (went twice on one) I’m trying to concentrate more on being smooth and safe vs fast. Shot lots of video, probably need to edit it down before posting much.

If you’re really bored, here’s a video of me driving the Dragon. I’ll post some forward views as well.

The rain has finally stopped and it’s a beautiful sunny day down here today. Made 2 runs on the Dragon. Last one was right before they closed it down for the night and we found out how they close it: A giant dump truck with a snowplow on the front.

Rain and HAIL. Haven’t made it out to the actual Dragon yet due to terrible weather. Considering calling it an early night so I can get up with the sun and make a few runs on the hopefully dry Dragon. Need to get some AA batteries for my radios tomorrow as well.

Well we survived the drive down. Rained almost the entire way. The detour over the mountain had us literally driving in the clouds. Had a great time hanging out with everyone after we got settled in!

Results of yesterdays Dyno Tune Party at Detroit Tuned. The Mynes guys were awesome!
I went in from Jan’s tune 2 years ago with : 207.5 / 170.1
Ended up with 208.3whp and 191.9 ft/lb of torque.
Its noticeably smoother across all RPMs I’m very happy with the results. And Chad fixed a rattle in my SC belt tensioner.

I cannot WAIT to get back to the Tail of the Dragon this year. It’s been 3 years, and my life is dramatically changed. I just want to chill out in the forested mountains and drive the best road ever paved with some great friends.
Man just realized its been 3 years.

So everyone has to have an iPhone app. Seems MINI is not much different. I downloaded and installed the app, and after messing with it, I can only ask : “why?”
Do you expect me to have this app running while I’m driving and keeping my phone active? That’s safe. So far I have not seen one other user, pin, or anything else of use in the app.
Its free. So it has that going for it. Otherwise it seems it core purpose is rather unsafe and an added distraction to already distracted drivers. Disappointing.
